Sony SAB Artists Share Practical Water-Saving Tips, Emphasizing the Impact of Small Changes

Mumbai: Water is one of the most precious resources sustaining life, and with communities around the world increasingly facing water scarcity, the need for responsible water conservation has never been greater. While large-scale solutions are important, meaningful change often begins with simple, mindful actions at home.

To encourage sustainable water-use habits, Sony SAB artists Iqbal Khan, Gulki Joshi, Muskaan Bamne, Karuna Pandey, and Toral Rasputra have come together to highlight the importance of water conservation. Through practical everyday habits they personally follow, the actors are inspiring viewers to make water-saving a part of their daily lives.

Iqbal Khan, who plays Dr. Dev Mehta in Yaadein, stressed the significance of a simple habit. “One of the easiest things anyone can do is turn off the tap while brushing their teeth. Many people leave the water running without realizing how much is being wasted. This small change alone can save several litres of water every day. We don’t always need grand solutions—sometimes the simplest habits create the biggest impact,” he said.

Gulki Joshi, seen as Dr. Srishti Agrawal in Yaadein, shared a practical method she follows at home. “I keep a bucket in the bathroom to collect water that would otherwise go down the drain while waiting for it to warm up. That collected water can be used for mopping floors or watering plants. It’s a very small effort, but over time it saves a surprising amount of water,” she explained.

Muskaan Bamne, who portrays Shanaya in Pushpa Impossible, said she has adopted a time-conscious approach to bathing. “I now set a time limit for my showers. It may sound unusual at first, but it quickly makes you realize how much water is used unintentionally. Keeping showers to around five minutes can make a real difference. When water conservation becomes a personal goal, it feels rewarding rather than burdensome,” she said.

Karuna Pandey, who plays the titular role in Pushpa Impossible, highlighted the value of reusing water. “The water left after washing vegetables can easily be used to water plants. I have been doing this at home for years instead of pouring it down the sink. It requires no extra effort and helps conserve a considerable amount of water. Once you start, you wonder why you didn’t do it earlier,” she noted.

Toral Rasputra, who essays the role of Kunti in Veer Hanuman, emphasized the cultural and environmental importance of water conservation. “In our culture, water has always been considered sacred, but over time we seem to have lost that sense of respect. A leaking tap, a dripping pipe, or water flowing unnecessarily may seem insignificant, but their cumulative impact is enormous. Fixing such issues is simple, yet the benefits are long-lasting. The water we save today will remain available for future generations,” she said.

Through these practical suggestions, the Sony SAB artists are encouraging viewers to adopt simple, sustainable habits that can collectively make a significant difference in preserving one of the planet’s most vital resources.
